Google has brought a new experience for technology lovers. The popular mapping and virtual globe platform Google Earth has now added flight simulator mode, which can now be used directly from any part of the world through a web browser.
Google confirmed the new feature in an announcement on social media, according to tech news outlet Android Police.
To use the new feature, open Google Earth and go to the ‘Google Earth’ option. Then select ‘Flight Simulator’ from the ‘Tools’ menu to experience flying in the virtual sky.
A helpful FAQ (FAQ) section is also maintained for new users, where basic instructions for using the flight simulator can be found.
However, Google said that this is still an experimental feature. As a result, some technical errors or abnormalities may occur during use.
Also, the company has clearly stated that this simulator is not intended for real flight training. According to Google, it is primarily a fun and easy way for ordinary users to explore the world in a new way, not a substitute for high-quality aviation training.
Earlier in 2024, Google Earth added the facility to view reconstructed scenes of historical places and times. The new flight simulator mode takes that experience one step further.
