South Korean technology giant Samsung is making final preparations to bring a new handset to expand the scope of its popular budget-flagship ‘Galaxy A’ series in the international market. ‘Samsung Galaxy A27’ is the successor of ‘Galaxy A26’. Although Samsung has not made an official announcement yet, the presence of the device in the database of US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and benchmarking platform ‘Geekbench’ (Geekbench) is a clear indication of its imminent market launch.

FCC listing and model number
The Samsung Galaxy A27 handset was recently spotted on the US FCC certification site with two different model numbers—SM-A276B and SM-A276U. These two variants, which were approved by the certification site on June 1, are believed to be different versions for the international and US markets. Although no specifications have emerged directly from the FCC listing, the approval means the handset is on the verge of being released into the market.

Snapdragon chipset and Android 16 on Geekbench
Apart from the FCC, the device was also seen undergoing test runs on the Geekbench benchmark platform. According to Geekbench, the Galaxy A27 will be powered by Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. Besides, the base variant has 6GB (6GB) of RAM and it will run Samsung’s own OneUI (One UI) operating system based on Google’s latest Android 16.

New pill-shaped design and display architecture
According to leaked renders and leaks, Samsung is going to make some changes to their familiar camera design. The rear panel of the Galaxy A27 will have a ‘pill-shaped’ (Pill-shaped) camera module, inside which the sensors will be arranged vertically. The phone will come in three attractive color options – Black, Pink and Light Blue – and will weigh around 200 grams.

In terms of display, the handset can be seen sporting a huge 6.8-inch AMOLED display (some reports say 6.7 inches), which will support 120Hz refresh rate for extremely smooth scrolling and visuals.

OIS triple camera and battery backup
For photography, the Galaxy A27 has a triple rear camera setup. Its main attraction is the 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization or OIS support, which will help capture perfect and stable videos and photos. Besides, there will be a 5-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel macro lens. There will be a 12-megapixel front shooter for video calls and selfies.

For long-term backup, the device will be provided with a standard 5,000 mAh (5000mAh) battery, which will support 25W fast charging technology for fast charging.
