State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmad Palak bought a charred sheet recovered from the market which was badly burnt in the capital’s Bangabazar for 40 thousand taka.
Charity organization Vidyananda Foundation has taken the initiative of buying and selling burnt clothes to support the affected businessmen. By collecting these clothes they are selling to the rich people of the society. The money from this sale will be handed over to the affected small traders.
As a part of this, the state minister purchased a burnt sheet from Vidyananda Foundation in Bangabazar. On Thursday evening, he bought this dress during the distribution of Iftar among the underprivileged people organized by Vidyananda Foundation. At that time, he said, I and my colleagues bought this sheet for 40 thousand taka with all that we had. The fire caused an estimated loss of Rs. Now they need some financial and emotional support. We are 17 crore people who can not stand by these 5000 people with the ability? He also said that money is not important, the important thing is that we are on the side of the businessman.
He appreciated the initiative of Vidyananda Foundation to stand by the affected businessmen in Banga market with creative, innovative solutions and said that he will always support them in any noble initiative.
The state minister urged everyone to stand by the helpless small businessmen of Bangabazar according to their ability.
